FARMINGTON, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's alpine ski team competed in a pair of races at Titcomb Mountain on Sunday. The Monks placed second the giant slalom event with 11 place points and a 2:39.97 total time and won the slalom with 10 points and a 3:28.62 composite time.
UMaine-Farmington won the giant slalom with 10 place points and a 2:39.51 composite time and finished second in the slalom with 11 points and a 3:29.04 aggregate time.
In the giant slalom, junior Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) posted his fourth win of the year, and 14th of his career, with a 52.05 (26.08, 25.97) effort and was joined on the podium by UMF skiers Simon Spear and Lake Lindelof, who finished second and third, respectively.
In the slalom race, Spear took first place with a 1:08.63 time and was followed by SJC skiers Liam Strobeck (1:08.78) and sophomore Jacob Morris (Woodstock, N.H.) (1:09.80).
GIANT SLALOM:
- Junior Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) posted his fourth win of the year, and 14th of his career, with a 52.05 (26.08, 25.97) effort
- Freshman Colin Rathbone (Groton, Mass.) was fourth with a 53.67 (26.73, 26.94) time
- Freshman Logan Davis (Naples, Maine) finished seventh (54.25, 26.98 – 27.27)
- Sophomore Jacob Morris (Woodstock, N.H.) placed 11th (54.54, 27.38 – 27.16)
- First-year Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) was 15th (55.06, 27.69 – 27.37)
- Junior Aidan Wolfinger (Bedford, N.H.) finished 17th (55.84, 28.18 – 27.66)
- Junior Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, Maine) placed fifth on the first run (26.81) but was disqualified on the second turn
- Sophomore Dimitri Southworth (Biddeford, Maine) was disqualified on the first run and posted a 31.09 time (31st) on the second
SLALOM:
- Strobeck placed second with a 1:08.78 (33.33, 35.45) performance
- Morris notched the first podium finish of his career with a third-place finish (1:09.80, 34.21 – 35.59)
- Rathbone continues to perform at a high level and placed fifth (1:10.04, 34.21 – 35.83)
- Gorton was eighth with a 1:10.65 (34.84, 35.81) time
- Davis finished ninth (1:10.71, 34.94 – 35.77)
- Price placed 11th (1:11.26, 35.52 – 35.74)
- Wolfinger was 18th (1:14.21, 36.53 – 37.68)
- Southworth posted a 29th-place finish (1:25.22, 42.09 – 43.13)

The Monks close out the 2023 regular season docket next Saturday with a giant slalom race at Sugarloaf. The event is set to start at 10:00 AM.
