Men Finish Second, Women Third at Pleasant Point Giant Slalom

BRIDGTON, Maine – Saint Joseph's College hosted a USCSA Reynolds Division giant slalom race at Pleasant Mountain on Saturday. The SJC men placed second with 15 place points and a 4:11.46 composite time while the St. Joe's women finished third with 25 points and a 4:44.18 total time.

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

UMaine-Farmington claimed the team title with the minimum six points, as Jacob Roy (1:20.86), Sam Roy (1:23.16), and Lake Lindelof (1:23.50) finished first, second and third, respectively, to lead the Beavers to their second win in as many days at Pleasant Mountain. UMaine-Orono finished third (41 pts), Bowdoin placed fourth (57 pts), and New England College was fifth (71 pts) while Bates and Colby tied for sixth with 138 points.

FOR THE MONKS:

  • Sophomore Logan Davis (Naples, Maine) placed fourth with a 1:23.63 (41.82, 41.81) effort
  • Sophomore Colin Rathbone (Groton, Mass.) finished fifth (1:23.85, 41.64 / 42.21)
  • Sophomore Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) was sixth (1:23.98, 41.62 / 42.36)
  • Senior Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) finished seventh (1:24.97, 41.81 / 43.16)
  • Junior Jacob Morris (Woodstock, N.H.) was 10th (1:25.40, 42.55 / 42.85)
  • Freshman Charlie Pye (Rangeley, Maine) placed 16th (1:27.29, 43.95 / 43.34)
  • Freshman Sam Plummer (Raymond, Maine) finished 28th (1:33.16, 46.62 / 46.54)
  • Sophomore Jacob Gilmore (Naples, Maine) was 36th (1:44.58, 52.39 / 52.19)
  • Senior Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) did not finish the first run and had the second-fastest time (41.29) on the second stint

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

Colby College edged out UMaine-Farmington for the team crown on the women's side, as the Mules notched 12 points and a 4:33.76 time to best the Beavers, who posted 13 points with a 4:34.07 total time. Bowdoin placed fourth (35 pts), UMaine-Orono was fifth (48 pts), New England College finished sixth (65 pts), and Bates placed seventh (120 pts).

FOR THE MONKS:

  • Senior Courtney Pingree (Marblehead, Mass.) posted a third-place finish with a 1:31.56 (45.91, 45.65) performance
  • Senior Maeghan Perkins (Turner, Maine) finished 10th with a 1:35.19 (48.84, 46.35) effort
  • Freshman Meghan Cyr (Hampden, Maine) placed 12th (1:37.43, 49.02 / 48.41)
  • Freshman Hannah Golden (Concord, N.H.) was 13th (1:38.43, 49.31 / 49.12)
  • Freshman Lily Anctil finished (Greene, Maine) 16th (1:39.38, 50.18 / 49.20)
  • Junior Lillian Souweine (Bangor, Maine) placed 18th (1:40.52, 49.97 / 50.55)
  • Junior Maddie Zordan (New Hartford, Conn.) had the fastest first-run time (44.37) but did not finish the second trip
  • Sophomore Sienna Mack (Lincoln, N.H.) registered a 50.37 second-run effort after failing to finish the first stint

Saint Joseph's will compete in a slalom race at Pats Peak next Saturday at 10:00 AM.
