STANDISH, Maine. – The Saint Joseph's College women's swimming & diving team competed in a meet against the Husson Eagles on Friday afternoon. The Eagles narrowly outpaced the Monks by a 133-121 margin.
Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, ME) had a strong performance for the Monks securing three first place finishes and competed on the winning 400 yard Freestyle Relay team. Twombly finished first in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 12:48.00, first in the 200 Yard Breaststroke at 2:48.64, and first in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 30.05.
Cheri Williams (Belchertown, MA) finished second in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 3:00.01. In the 200 Yard Freestyle Williams posted a 2:17.52 and 31.52 in the 50 Yard Butterfly to collect second place in the events.
Williams also competed in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay and secured a first place finish with her teammates.
Kiley Matthews secured a first place finish for the Monks in the 100-yard free with a time of 1:00.33. Matthews also recorded a second place finish in the 200 Yard IM and contributed to the Monks 400 Yard Freestyle Relay win.
Elise Soucy (Saco, ME) and Brianna Letourneau (Lewiston, ME) competed victoriously in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
In the 50-yard back event Soucy clocked in at 33.42 for a first place finish.
The Monks are back in action on Saturday January 18th at Maine Maritime.
