CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine– The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams wrapped up their season opening weekend with a first place finish on the women's side and a second place finish on the men's in a slalom race at Sugarloaf on Saturday.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
The SJC men's team posted 29 points for a second place finish.Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) led the Monks with a second place finish.
FOR THE MONKS:
- Price finished second with a 1:03.98 (31.39, 32.59)
- Sophomore Sam Plummer (Raymond, ME) was 13th with a 1:15.78 (36.58, 39.20)
- Graduate student Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) finished 16th with a 1:16.93 (43.43, 33.50)
- Owen Pethic (Canterbury, N.H.) finished 17th with a 1:17.40 (37.45, 39.95)
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
The SJC women's team posted 12 points for a first place finish, claiming the fourth, fifth, and sixth spots by Hannah Golden, Maddie Zordan, and Katie Yeaton. The University of Maine-Farmington Beavers finished in second place, just a second and a half behind SJC. New England College, University of Maine Orono, Bowdoin, Bates, and Colby-Sawyer. followed behind respectively.
FOR THE MONKS:
- Sophomore Hannah Golden (Concord, N.H.) finished fourth with 1:13.50 (35.71, 37.79)
- Maddie Zordan (New Hartford, CT) finished fifth with a 1:13.67 (35.35, 38.32)
- Freshman Katie Yeaton notched a sixth place finish with a 1:15.17 (35.64, 39.53)
- Junior Sienna Mack (Lincoln, N.H.) was 8th (1:19.20, 38.71/ 40.49)
- Senior Lillian Souweine (Bangor, Maine) placed 10th (1:20.73, 39.23 / 41.50)
