Saint Joseph's Women Win, Men Finish Strong Second at Pleasant Mountain

BRIDGTON, Maine–The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams hosted a pair of USCSA Reynolds Division grand slalom races at Pleasant Mountain on Saturday. The Saint Joseph's women finished first with 13 place points and a 4:42.20 while the men' finished second with 24 place points and a 4:32.24 total time.

The Monks honored seniors Jacob Morris, Maddie Zordan, and Lilly Souweine at Saturday's race.

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

With three skiers in the top five, the UMaine-Farmington Beavers took home the men's title with 7 place points and total time of 4:11.53. The SJC men's team posted 24 points for a second place finish. Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) led the Monks with a third place finish, his second podium of the season. Bowdoin placed third with 30 points, New England College finished fourth (56 pts), UMaine-Orono was fifth (56 pts), and Bates was sixth (138 pts).

FOR THE MONKS:

Price finished third with a 1:24.16 (42.25, 41.91)
Junior Colin Rathbone finished 5th with a 1:26.06 (44.42, 41.64)
Sophomore Sam Plummer (Raymond, ME) was 17th with a 1:33.02 (46.31, 46.71)
Owen Pethic (Canterbury, N.H.) finished 23rd with a 1:40,81 (51.90, 48.91)
Junior Jacob Gilmore (Naples, ME) finished 32nd with a 1:49.16 (55.23, 53.93)

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

The SJC women's team posted 12 points for a first place finish with a total time of 4:42.20, The University of Maine-Farmington Beavers finished in second place, just a behind SJC wth a time of 4:43.67 (14 points), New England College finished third (37 points) , University of Maine Orono finished fourth (38 points), Bowdoin (47 points), and Bates in sixth (114).

Sophomore Hannah Golden (Concord, N.H.) finished third with 1:32.84 (45.35, 47.49)
Maddie Zordan (New Hartford, CT) finished fourth with a 1:34.44 (46.80, 47.64)
Lily Anctil finished sixth with a 1:34.92 (46.62, 48.30)
Junior Sienna Mack (Lincoln, N.H.) was ninth (1:37.67, 48.38/49.29)
Meghan Cyr finished 10th with 1:39.70 (50.01, 49.69)
Senior Lillian Souweine (Bangor, Maine) placed 11th 1:39.79 (49.91, 49.88)
