KENTS HILL, Maine–The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams competed in a USCSA Reynolds Division slalom event at Kents Hill on Saturday. The Saint Joseph's men finished second with 22 points (2:55.41) while the women also finished second with 15 points and a 3:16.90 total time.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
UMaine-Farmington Beavers took home the men's title with 9 place points and total time of 2:48.84. The SJC men's team posted 22 points for a second place finish. Jack Price was narrowly edged out by Farmington's Roy by 0.16 seconds in his second place finish. Bowdoin placed third with 48 points, New England College finished fourth (59 pts), UME finished fifth (63 points), and Bates was sixth (123 pts).
FOR THE MONKS:
- Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) finished second with a 55.49 (28.10, 27.39)
- Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) finished fourth (56.95, 28.84/28.11)
- Sam Plummer finished 16th with a 1:02.97 (31.54, 31.43)
- Owen Pethic (Canterbury, N.H.) finished 21st with a 1:06.19 (34.17, 32.02)
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
The SJC women's team posted 15 points for a second place finish with a total time of 3:16.90 behind the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers (1st, 7 points). of 4:52.49 (28 points), University of Maine Orono finished third (41 points), New England College finished fourth (42 points), Bowdoin finished fifth (54 points), and Bates (96).
FOR THE MONKS:
- Maddie Zordan (New Hartford, CT) finished third with a 1:03.28 (31.88, 31.40)
- Junior Sienna Mack (Lincoln, N.H.) was fifth (1:02.47, 33.45/32.79)
- Katie Yeaton (Farmington, ME) finished seventh with a 1:07.38 (34.13, 33.35)
- Sophomore Hannah Golden (Concord, N.H.) finished 12th with 1:09.78 (35.87, 33.91)
- Senior Lillian Souweine (Bangor, Maine) placed 15th 1:12.46 (36.90, 35.56)
- Meghan Cyr (Hampden, Maine) finished 18th with 1:12.75 (37.24, 35.51)
- Lily Anctil (Greene, Maine) finished 21st with a 1:15.15 (38.30, 36.85)
- Reese Burke (Center Barnstead, N.H.) finished 24th (1:20.29, 42.02/38.27)
