HENNIKER, NH–The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams competed in grand slalom events at Pats Peak on Saturday. The Saint Joseph's men finished second with 16 points (3:55.70) and the women finished second with a total time of 4:24.85 (21 points).
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
The Monks finished second to the UMaine-Farmington Beavers and ahead of Bowdoin (3rd), UMaine-Orono (4th), New England College (5th), and Colby-Sawyer College (6th).
FOR THE MONKS:
- Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) finished fourth with a 1:18.16 (38.71, 39.45)
- Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) finished fifth (1:18.44, 38.72/39.72)
- Colin Rathbone finished seventh with a 1:19.10 (38.74, 40.36)
- Charlie Pye finished 11th (1:20.66, 40.18/40.48)
- Owen Pethic (Canterbury, N.H.) finished 27th with a 1:28.06 (43.40, 44.66)
- Jacob Gilmore (Naples, ME) finished 37th (1:37.28, 48.36/48.92)
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
The SJC women's team posted a second place finish behind the UMaine- Farmington Beavers and ahead of UMaine- Orono (3rd), New England College (4th), Bowdoin College (5th), Bates College (6th), and Colby-Sawyer College (6th). The Monks' performance was highlighted by Maddie Zordan's first place finish in Race 2 and second place finish Race 1.
FOR THE MONKS:
- Katie Yeaton (Farmington, ME) finished fifth with a 1:27.54 (44.03, 43.51)
- Sophomore Hannah Golden (Concord, N.H.) finished seventh with 1:28.06 (43.70, 44.36)
- Meghan Cyr (Hampden, Maine) finished ninth with 1:29.25 (44.71, 44.54)
- Lily Anctil (Greene, Maine) finished 13th with a 1:30.12 (45.36, 44.76)
- Senior Lillian Souweine (Bangor, Maine) placed 20th 1:33.99 (40.77, 43.13)
- Reese Burke (Center Barnstead, N.H.) finished 24th (1:36.89, 48.33/48.56)
