Softball 2025 Incoming Class Announced

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College Softball Head Coach Jamie Smyth '92 is pleased to announce his incoming recruiting class.

The softball class of 2029 features nine players - six from Maine, two from Vermont,  and one from Massachusetts. The Saint Joseph's College softball team finished the 2025 season with a 17-24 overall record and went 10-6 in conference play. The Monks hit .310 as a team, led by Madison Pelletier (.417), Chantelle Bouchard (.409, 6 HR, 35 RBI), and Sadie Tirrell (.377). The team turned 21 double plays and posted a .959 fielding percentage. A highlight of the season came when Head Coach Jamie Smyth earned his 600th career win, marking a major milestone in his storied career.

"We have a great group of talented players coming in... The coaching staff is anxious to get to work this fall with this new group and the returning players to start building the foundation for a successful season" says Coach Smyth.

Why Saint Joseph's? I liked the vibe of the campus and the softball team was a perfect fit.

High School: Four-year varsity softball player and three-year soccer player at Hampden Academy…as a senior, posted a .547 batting average with a .559 OBP, 1.231 OPS, .672 SLG, and 17 stolen bases.

Personal: Kiera Elizabeth Gabric, daughter of Hope and Geoff Gabric, sister to Landen Gabric.

Why Saint Joseph's? I loved the campus and the welcoming atmosphere, as well as the excellent nursing program!

High School: Four-year varsity athlete in both softball and volleyball, and two-year basketball player at Messalonskee…played second base, shortstop, third base, and center field in softball…recipient of the 2025 Colette Caswell Outstanding Senior Female Athlete Award…earned All-Academic honors in all three sports…received the Volleyball Leadership Award…National Honor Society member and earned High Honors with Distinction all four years.

Personal: Olivia Marie Thomas, daughter of Stacey and Paul Thomas, sister to Jacob Thomas.

Why Saint Joseph's? I chose SJC because of the gracious community and welcoming people and the opportunity to continue playing softball with amazing people and coaches.

High School: Four-year varsity player in both softball and soccer…played first base in softball and goalkeeper in soccer…finished career with 102 hits, 7 home runs, 81 RBIs, and 60 runs scored…career averages: .537 OBP, .487 BA, .660 SLG…Junior year: PVC First Team, Junior All-Star Game…Senior year: PVC Player of the Year, PVC First Team, Senior All-Star Game, Miss Maine Softball Finalist…helped soccer team win 2023 Northern Maine title and finish as State Runner-Up…four-year High Honors student, National Honor Society and National Science Honor Society member, Class Vice President…club experience with Sluggers Outlaws (2 years), Sluggers Select (2 years), NE Elite (3 years)…extensive volunteer service including YMCA coaching, library support, and Little League.

Why Saint Joseph's? I chose to attend Saint Joe's because I loved how much the community helps one another and creates a family atmosphere.

High School: Played five different sports including four years of softball…also competed in volleyball, soccer, cheer, and gymnastics…four-year varsity starter in softball…began as a freshman at Lynnfield High before transferring to Bishop Fenwick…played middle infield, third base, and served as a backup pitcher…compiled a .405 batting average with 86 hits, 55 RBIs, and 21 doubles…over 250 assists in her career…named CCL All-Star and All-Conference in junior and senior seasons…helped Fenwick reach the state Final Four…played for The Show (2 years) and The Bears (2 years)…volunteered at Saint Mary's of the Annunciation After School Care and school open houses.

Personal: Lucia Dias, daughter of Lisa and John Dias, sister to Joey Dias and the late Gianna Dias.

Why Saint Joseph's? I have always wanted to go to Saint Joe's because of the close community and how beautiful the campus is.

High School: Played softball for four years, basketball for three, and field hockey for two…primarily a catcher and third baseman in softball…named Softball Rookie of the Year as a freshman and received the Coaches Award as a senior…earned All-Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore and junior, and All-Conference honors as a senior…won a state championship junior year and played in regionals senior year…Honor Roll student…played for Southern Maine Flame, Coastal Riptide, Southern Maine River Rats, and New England Elite (4 years)…volunteered at a soup kitchen and served at Holy Cross School.

Personal: Izabella Rae Ann Napolitano Aberle, daughter of Bruno Napolitano and Liz Ouellette, sister to Ryleigh, Logan, and Katie.

Why Saint Joseph's? It's the perfect distance from home and I really enjoy the campus and the teaching environment.

High School: Played five years of varsity softball including her 8th grade season due to a lack of JV…played third base and pitcher…selected for the North-South Vermont Senior All-Star Game…part of the 2023 Vermont Division 3 State Runner-Up team…Honor Roll student…played in the Shelburne Winter Indoor Softball League for two years.

Personal: Paige Madison Tremblay, daughter of Travis and Jasmine Tremblay.

Why Saint Joseph's? I chose Saint Joseph's College because the campus size feels just right—big enough to offer opportunities but small enough to feel like a close-knit community. The friendly students and staff made me feel welcome from the start, and the supportive atmosphere really stood out during my many visits. I'm also excited about joining the softball team and pursuing a Criminal Justice degree that aligns perfectly with my goals.

High School: Five-year varsity softball player…also played varsity basketball (3 years) and varsity soccer (3 years)…softball positions included 1st, 2nd, 3rd, SS, and outfield…career stats: 134 hits and 139 RBIs, .547 batting average across 245 at-bats…named to First and Second Team All-Capital League, Player of the Year in softball, Senior All-Star Game selection, and Second Team in soccer…helped team finish second in 2022 softball and basketball state championships…member of National Technical Honor Society, and achieved High Honors…played fall, summer, and winter ball…volunteered as a Woods Trail Run ambassador and school leader.

Why Saint Joseph's? It is a very beautiful campus and I have heard really good things about SJC. It is also a small campus which I love and is close to home.

High School: Four-year varsity player in both softball and soccer…catcher and third baseman…injured in 2022, but hit .500 with 5 home runs in 2023, .533 with 5 home runs in 2024, and .675 with 4 home runs in 2025…career batting average of .558…earned numerous athletic awards in softball and soccer including MVP, All-Conference, All-Academic, and Offensive Player of the Year…National Honor Society and High Honors all four years…volunteered over 130 hours through various service projects including CNA clinicals, mentoring, health carnivals, and food pantry work.

Personal: Brianna Marie Eastman, daughter of Mark and Michelle Eastman, sister to Austin Eastman.
