STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College Women's Basketball Head Coach Dr. Christopher Woodside is pleased to announce the 2025 Women's Basketball incoming recruiting class.
The women's basketball class of 2029 features a talented group of student-athletes from championship-level programs, with three newcomers having won state titles in various sports. The Saint Joseph's College women's basketball team finished the 2024–25 season with a 21-7 overall record, going 14-3 in GNAC play and advancing to the conference semifinals. The Monks averaged 69.4 points per game, outscored opponents by over 13 points per contest, and posted a .409 team field goal percentage.
This class marks the beginning of a new era for the program, as Dr. Woodside takes the reins following the retirement of legendary head coach Mike McDevitt. The winningest coach in SJC women's basketball history, McDevitt led the Monks for 32 seasons and guided the program to 667 wins and fourteen national tournament appearances.
"I'm very excited about this incoming group of student-athletes," said Coach Woodside. "They all come from very successful programs and all have seen success in multiple sports, with three winning state championships in various sports. I believe that success is a mindset, and coming from winning programs these young women already know the hard work and dedication it takes to succeed. I have no doubt they will contribute to our success on and off the court this upcoming year."
