Stapelfeld Named D3hoops.com Third Team All-Region 1

STANDISH, Maine – The 2026 D3hoops.com All-Region teams have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior guard Elisabeth Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) has earned Third Team All-Region 1 recognition.

The first All-Region honor of her career, the distinction comes on the heels of a senior season in which Stapelfeld also secured First Team All-GNAC accolades for the first time. She developed into Saint Joseph's primary offensive threat while establishing herself as one of the conference's most efficient backcourt players.

Stapelfeld led the Monks in scoring average (14.6), total points (379), field goals made (133), field-goal percentage (43.6%), free throws made (83), free throws attempted (109), free-throw percentage (76.1%), assists per game (2.6), and total assists (68). Among GNAC leaders, she ranked fourth in free throws made and free-throw percentage, fifth in scoring average and total points, and ninth in both field goals made and three-point percentage.

She also reached a major career milestone during the season, becoming the 28th member of Saint Joseph's 1,000-Point Club. With sister Cassandra Stapelfeld '22 also on the banner with 1,683 career points, the Stapelfeld's are the only sibling pair represented in the program's 1,000-point club.

Over 112 career games, including 105 starts, Stapelfeld averaged 10.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per contest while shooting 47.1% from the field, 32.5% from three-point range, and 75.0% from the free-throw line. She finished her career with 1,218 points, good for 13th in program history, along with 253 rebounds, 240 assists, and 116 steals.

Stapelfeld was one of four GNAC players recognized on the 2026 D3hoops.com All-Region 1 team, joining Regis senior Madi Zancan (First Team), Lasell senior Laura Johnson (Second Team), and Emmanuel junior Geanna Bryant (Second Team).

In its first season under head coach Chris Woodside, Saint Joseph's compiled a 17-11 overall record and went 10-2 in GNAC play to earn the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. The Monks carried an eight-game winning streak into postseason play, added tournament victories over Norwich University and Albertus Magnus College, and advanced to the GNAC Championship game.
