STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College freshman guard Davis Mann (Falmouth, Maine) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this winter, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Mann has also been selected as the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches & Writers Association Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Mann posted 15 points, five rebounds, and two assists in Tuesday's 81-54 win over Emmanuel, then finished the week with 17 points and five rebounds in Saturday's 69-67 defensive standoff against Bates. He averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 42.9% (9-of-21) from the floor, 55.6% (5-of-9) from three-point range, and 81.8% (9-of-11) at the foul line as the Monks extended their winning streak to six games.
In 17 games – all starts – this season, Mann is averaging 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 44.8% (95-212) from the field, 29.6% (21-71) from downtown, and 83.1% (54-65) from the FT line. He currently ranks third in the conference in FT% and offensive rebounds (52), 10th in free throws made (54), 11th in points (265), and 12th in scoring average.
Saint Joseph's will play at Elms College on Wednesday in a conference contest slated to start at 5:00 PM.
