NEWRY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams opened the 2026 season with a pair of slalom races at Sunday River on Wednesday. The SJC women won both events while the St. Joe's men won the opener and placed second in the nightcap.

It was a strong opening day for the Monks, as several athletes made their collegiate debuts, an SJC skier won all four races, and interim head coach Shaun Clem led the program in his first races at the helm.

SLALOM #1 – WOMEN:

• Ava Beaudin (Fr., Raymond, Maine) – first place (1:30.05)
• Maggie Cook (Fr., Centennial, Colo.) – second place (1:30.24)
• Sienna Mack (Sr., Lincoln, N.H.) – third place (1:33.99)

SLALOM #2 – WOMEN:

• Katie Yeaton (So., Farmington, Maine) – first place (1:15.80)
• Maggie Cook – second place (1:16.93)
• Hannah Golden (Jr., Concord, N.H.) – third place (1:18.20)
• Sienna Mack – fourth place (1:19.71)
• Ava Beaudin – fifth place (1:22.19)
• Lily Anctil (Jr., Greene, Maine) – eighth place (1:27.24)
• Reese Burke (So., Center Barnstead, N.H.) – 10th place (1:31.37)

SLALOM #1 – MEN:

• Logan Davis (Sr., Naples, Maine) – first place (1:15.06)
• Jack Price (Sr., Franconia, N.H.) – second place (1:15.54)

SLALOM #2 – MEN:

• Jack Price – first place (1:05.70)
• Samuel Plummer (Raymond, Maine) – sixth place (1:14.54)
• Owen Pethic (Canterbury, N.H.) – seventh place (1:18.25)
