NEWRY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams opened the 2026 season with a pair of slalom races at Sunday River on Wednesday. The SJC women won both events while the St. Joe's men won the opener and placed second in the nightcap.
It was a strong opening day for the Monks, as several athletes made their collegiate debuts, an SJC skier won all four races, and interim head coach Shaun Clem led the program in his first races at the helm.
