WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its weekly awards, naming Saint Joseph's College senior Kimberley McLaughlin (Lewiston, Maine) the GNAC Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week.
On Saturday, Saint Joseph's hosted Rivier University, where McLaughlin made 15 saves to help lead the Monks to a 5-1 victory. The senior allowed just one goal while turning away 15 shots in an impressive performance between the posts.
Earlier in the week, the Monks faced Colby-Sawyer University, where McLaughlin recorded six saves and allowed one goal in a 1-0 loss to the Chargers.
McLaughlin finished the week with 21 saves across two games, allowing two goals for an average of 1.00 goals against per game. She ranks 27th nationally among NCAA Division III field hockey goalkeepers with 8.77 saves per game.
The honor marks McLaughlin's first GNAC weekly award of her career. She becomes the first Saint Joseph's goalkeeper to receive the recognition since Kassidy Collins (Gardiner, Maine) earned the award on September 26, 2022.
The Monks return to action Monday, October 19, hosting Endicott College.
