WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior Alex Bachmann (Scarborough, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.
Bachmann made four saves Wednesday as the Monks shut out New England College, 3-0, for their first conference win of the season. It was his third clean sheet of the year.
He followed with 11 saves Saturday against Albertus Magnus, holding the Falcons to one goal in a 1-1 draw. Bachmann finished the week with 15 saves and a .938 save percentage.
Bachmann leads the GNAC with 59 saves, a total that ranks fifth among NCAA Division III goalkeepers. He currently ranks second in the conference in shutouts (3) and third in save percentage and goals against average (1.11). Bachmann is the first Saint Joseph's goalkeeper to receive the weekly honor since Liam Foley on October 30, 2023.
The Monks return to GNAC action Saturday at Dean College in Franklin, Mass. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM.
