STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced its weekly honors, and Saint Joseph's College sophomore Ashlyn Guerette (Merrimack, N.H.) has been named GNAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.
Guerette anchored the Monks' defense with back-to-back shutouts in a 2-0 conference week. She tallied five saves in a 1-0 road victory over New England College on Wednesday, then turned away the lone shot she faced in Saturday's 5-0 win at Mitchell College. With those efforts, the sophomore has now posted three straight shutouts and has not allowed a goal in nearly 330 minutes of play.
Statistically, Guerette has emerged among the GNAC's top goalkeepers. She is currently tied for the league lead in shutouts (5), ranks fourth in save percentage (.803) and goals against average (1.20), and sits eighth in both total saves (49) and saves per game (4.90). The weekly accolade marks the first of her career.
Saint Joseph's (6-5-0, 5-3-0 GNAC) continues conference play on Tuesday with a 3:30 PM matchup at Dean College (2-9-1, 1-6-1 GNAC.
