STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman Ava Markham (Belfast, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for the third-consecutive reporting period and fourth time overall this season.

Markham put together another strong week, totaling two goals and four assists for eight points as the Monks went 2-1. The freshman forward notched an assist in a 3-2 overtime setback at USM on Monday, recorded a goal and two helpers in an 8-0 victory at Elms on Wednesday, and closed the week with a goal and an assist in a 10-2 win at Albertus Magnus on Saturday.

Through 11 games – all starts – Markham has netted six goals with nine assists for 21 total points. She currently leads the team in assists and game-winning goals (3) and ranks among the conference leaders in assists (2nd), game-winners (1st), and total points (9th).

Saint Joseph's will play at #12 Endicott College on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
