STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College junior forward Cole Bishop (Gorham, Maine) has been named the GNAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
Bishop tallied two goals and three assists during a 1-1 week for the Monks. He scored the lone SJC goal in a 3-1 setback to Colby College on Tuesday before notching a goal and a career-high three assists in a 5-2 triumph over Lasell University on Saturday.
Bishop is the first Saint Joseph's men's soccer player to claim GNAC Player of the Week honors since Austin Ward on October 17, 2022. He is just the 10th SJC player all-time to earn the conference's top weekly award, joining Doug MacCallum, Zach Johnson, Mike Sanfilippo, Kyle Shangraw, Austin Bell, Brett Mattos, Cody Elliott, Noah Robinson, and Ward.
Through four games this fall, Bishop has registered two goals and four assists for eight points. He currently ranks second in the GNAC in assists and eighth in points.
Saint Joseph's will play at Bowdoin College on Tuesday in a non-conference contest slated to begin at 7:00 PM.
