Facchiano Collects Third MWBCA Rookie of the Week Honor

STANDISH, Maine – The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman guard Layla Facchiano (Auburn, Maine) has been selected as the MWBCA Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.

Facchiano helped power the Monks to a 2-0 conference week, averaging 11.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game. She posted 14 points to go with three rebounds, two assists, and three steals in Saturday's victory over Colby-Sawyer.

Through 22 games this winter, Facchiano is averaging 7.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 37.3% (59-of-158) from the floor, 35.2% (19-of-54) from three-point range, and 66.7% (28-of-42) at the free-throw line. The first-year speedster ranks second on the team in both steals (29) and assists (43).

Saint Joseph's (14-10, 9-2 GNAC) will host the University of Saint Joseph at 1:00 PM on Saturday in a rematch of the 2025 GNAC Championship.
