STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College senior guard Elisabeth Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) has been named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Second Team of the Week, as announced Tuesday.
The recognition marks the second straight week a Saint Joseph's player has earned NEWBA honors, after classmate Logan Brown (Brunswick, Maine) was selected to last week's First Team.
Stapelfeld averaged 21.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals while shooting 68.2% (15-22) from the floor and 66.7% (6-9) from three-point distance in a pair of conference victories last week. She netted 16 points off a 5-for-7 shooting effort in a win at Rivier on Wednesday and capped the week with 26 points on a 10-for-15 shooting performance from the field, including a 4-for-6 effort from downtown, in a triumph over Colby-Sawyer on Saturday.
As of February 18th, Stapelfeld is averaging 14.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals over 22 games while shooting 42.1% (107-254) from the field, 32.9% (26-79) from three, and 76.4% (68-89) from the free-throw line. She leads the team in scoring average, points (308), field goals made (107), field goal percentage, free throws made (68), attempted (89), and percentage, and assists (56).
Saint Joseph's closes out the regular season on Saturday with a rematch of the 2025 GNAC Championship versus University of Saint Joseph. Tip-off at the Harold Alfond Center is set for 1:00 PM.
