Five SJC Baseball Players Claim CSC Academic All-District® Honors

STANDISH, Maine – The 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Baseball Team has been announced and five Saint Joseph's College student-athletes have earned recognition.

Senior outfielder Ryan Kastle (Concord, N.H.), junior third baseman Vinny O'Leary (North Quincy, Mass.), and sophomores William Dionne (Somerset, Mass.), Paul Donnelly (Middleton, Mass.), and Nick Villano (Peabody, Mass.) have all earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time in their careers.

Kastle (Business Management), O'Leary (Criminal Justice), Dionne (Mathematics), Donnelly (History/Political Science), and Villano (Business Marketing) all contributed to a Saint Joseph's team that posted a 34-13 overall record and a 14-6 mark in conference play under the direction of co-head coaches Will Sanborn '86 and Lincoln Sanborn '14. The Monks' 34 victories were the program's highest total since the 2012 team won a school-record 39 games and tied for the fourth-most wins in program history.

The 2026 CSC Academic All-District® Baseball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately honors baseball student-athletes in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must participate in at least 90 percent of their team's contests or start a minimum of 66 percent while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

In the GNAC Tournament, Saint Joseph's advanced to the Championship Series after winning the Pod B title with a 4-1 postseason record. The Monks opened tourney play with a 12-2 victory over Norwich before falling to Lasell. Saint Joseph's then earned three consecutive elimination-game wins, defeating Norwich (8-0) and Lasell twice (17-5, 6-3) to secure the Pod B crown. The season concluded at Mitchell College, where the top-seeded Mariners swept the first two games of the best-of-three conference championship round.

Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 23, 2026.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
