STANDISH, Maine - The 2026 Maine College Baseball & Softball Association (MCBSA) postseason accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College is well-represented with eight honorees on the awards docket.
Sophomore catcher Nic Frink (Scarborough, Maine) and senior pitcher Dylan Brander (Merrimack, N.H.) have earned First Team All-State accolades, senior pitcher Padraig Mac Seain (Brookline, N.H.), junior third baseman Vinny O'Leary (North Quincy, Mass.), sophomore outfielder Jake Carlisle (Portsmouth, N.H.) and sophomore pitcher William Dionne (Somerset, Mass.) have claimed Second Team honors. Freshman pitcher Tyler Nelson (Medford, Mass.) and first-year infielder Theo Masella (Manchester, Mass.), both listed on the All-Rookie Team, round out the Monks' list of award winners.
The GNAC Co-Player of the Year and an ABCA/Rawlings Fourth Team All-American, Frink started all 47 games and led Saint Joseph's offensively with a .382 batting average, 66 hits, 11 home runs, 49 RBI, 110 total bases, and a .636 slugging percentage. The sophomore standout also scored 46 runs, stole eight bases, and posted a .437 on-base percentage while helping the Monks compile their best record in 14 years.
A First Team All-State selection, Brander anchored the Saint Joseph's pitching staff with a 7-2 record and a 2.71 ERA over 12 appearances and 11 starts. The senior right-hander led the team in wins, innings pitched (69.2), starts, and complete games (six) while striking out 35 batters and limiting opponents to a .264 batting average.
Mac Seain made five starts and posted a team-best 0.60 ERA with a 3-0 record before a season-ending injury in late March. The senior left-hander struck out 31 batters in 30.0 innings, held opponents to a .157 batting average, and recorded two complete games and one shutout. He did not allow a run through 25.2 consecutive innings and established new Saint Joseph's single-season records for ERA and opponents' batting average.
O'Leary earned Second Team All-State honors after batting .319 with 46 hits, 41 runs scored, eight doubles, two triples, 20 RBI, and six stolen bases in 46 games. The junior infielder also drew a team-high 30 walks and ranked second on the team with a .444 on-base percentage.
Carlisle turned in a strong sophomore season, batting .331 with 55 hits, 34 runs scored, eight doubles, seven home runs, and 34 RBI in 46 games. He ranked second on the team in hits, home runs, and total bases (86) while helping power one of the conference's most productive offenses.
A Second Team selection, Dionne appeared in a team-high 17 games and finished the season with a 4-1 record, four saves, and a 4.86 ERA over 50.0 innings pitched. The sophomore right-hander led the Monks with 51 strikeouts and saves and ranked second on the team in innings pitched.
Nelson enjoyed a productive first collegiate season, posting a 4-1 record and a 4.99 ERA over nine appearances, including eight starts. The freshman right-hander struck out 43 batters in 39.2 innings of work and ranked second on the team in strikeouts and fourth in innings.
Masella made an immediate impact during his first season with the Monks, batting .312 with 29 hits, 16 runs scored, eight RBI, and six stolen bases in 40 appearances, including 30 starts. The freshman infielder ranked fifth on the team in batting average and added a .413 on-base percentage while contributing at multiple positions defensively.
Under the watch of co-head coaches Will Sanborn and Lincoln Sanborn, Saint Joseph's posted a 34-13 overall record and a 14-6 conference mark in 2026. The Monks reached the GNAC Championship Series after winning four of five games in Pod B play and finished the year as conference runners-up.
