STANDISH, Maine – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has announced the recipients of the 2025-26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, with Saint Joseph's College among more than 500 collegiate programs nationwide to earn the honor.

Presented by Sports Attack, the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes member programs that posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

Saint Joseph's recorded a 3.22 team GPA for the academic year, with 24 players posting a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the spring semester. Of those student-athletes, 14 earned at least a 3.50 GPA, while 16 Monks garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Academic All-Conference honors, as announced by the conference earlier this month.

The academic success comes on the heels of a busy spring in which the Monks played 47 games, the second-highest single-season total in program history.

To qualify for the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, a program must be a high school or college baseball team, have a head coach who is a current ABCA member, and maintain a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the academic year.

Under co-head coaches Will Sanborn and Lincoln Sanborn, Saint Joseph's posted a 34-13 overall record and a 14-6 conference mark in 2026. The Monks won four of five games in GNAC Pod B Tournament play to advance to the GNAC Championship Series and finished the season as conference runners-up.

The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. Founded in 1949, the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest collegiate baseball All-America program. The association's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, ABCA/ATEC Regional and National Coaches of the Year, the ABCA Hall of Fame, and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
