Box Score 2 STANDISH, Maine – A 12-run fifth inning powered Saint Joseph's College (21-7) to an 18-0 victory in the opener before the Monks rallied for a 6-5 walk-off win in the nightcap to sweep the University of Maine-Farmington (5-12) in a non-conference doubleheader at Larry Mahaney Diamond.
With the sweep, Saint Joseph's becomes the first New England program to surpass the 20-win plateau during the 2026 season.
GAME ONE - Saint Joseph's 18, UMaine-Farmington 0
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Saint Joseph's seized control early with five runs in the second inning. Sophomore Nic Frink (Scarborough, Maine) opened the scoring with a solo home run before the Monks capitalized on a pair of Beaver miscues and added RBI plays from Josh Hersey (Salisbury, Mass.) and Luke Doughty (York, Maine) to build a 5-0 lead.
The Monks added another run in the fourth when Frink tripled and later scored to make it 6-0.
Saint Joseph's then blew the game open with a 12-run fifth inning, sending 17 batters to the plate. Matt Elwell (Wakefield, Mass.) drove in a run with a single, Vinny O'Leary (North Quincy, Mass.) produced a two-RBI play, Connor Finn (Kingston, Mass.) added a run-scoring hit, and the Monks benefited from several walks and defensive miscues to stretch the lead to 18-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Saint Joseph's jumped ahead in the first inning when Michael Richards (Melrose, Mass.) blasted a three-run homer to right field to give the Monks a 3-0 lead.
UMaine-Farmington chipped away and eventually surged ahead with a four-run seventh inning, highlighted by a two-run double from Brady Vincent and RBI hits from Jackson Murray (Bath, Maine) and Camden Cook (Littleton, N.H.) to give the Beavers a 5-3 advantage.
The Monks responded immediately in the bottom half. Matt Elwell lifted a sacrifice fly to trim the deficit before freshman Theo Masella (Manchester, Mass.) lined a two-run single down the left-field line, scoring Nic Frink and Jake Carlisle (Portsmouth, N.H. to complete the walk-off comeback.
