The 1986-87 men’s basketball team went 26-6 overall, captured Western Maine Athletic Conference and NAIA New England championships and claimed the program’s first NAIA National Tournament berth

Became the first Saint Joseph’s team to post a national tournament victory with a 78-66 win over third-ranked Biola University (CA) on March 12th, 1987

Two players – David Chadbourne and Charlie Warren – collected All-State and All-Conference accolades and Head Coach Rick Simonds was chosen as the Conference Coach of the Year
