Hall of Fame
Mike McDevitt (Ellsworth, Maine), who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011 for his accomplishments as a men’s basketball student-athlete, was honored for his remarkable career as Saint Joseph’s women’s basketball head coach. In 33 years on the bench, McDevitt compiled a 667–231 (.743) record, reached 20 wins in 22 seasons, and never posted a losing season. One of the most accomplished coaches in NCAA Division III women’s basketball history, he guided the Monks to 19 championships—including six GNAC titles—and 14 national tournament appearances split evenly between the NAIA and NCAA Division III. McDevitt earned 15 conference or regional Coach of the Year honors, highlighted by six GNAC Coach of the Year awards, three Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association distinctions (1999, 2017, 2018), and the 2018 New England Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year award.
