Ranked nationally all season, the Monks registered a runner-up finish in the Eastern College Athletics Conference (ECAC) Championship and recorded the program’s first-ever team titles in the Maine College Championship and NCAA DIII New England Regional Championship

Saint Joseph’s participated in the NCAA National Championship for the seventh consecutive season that fall and placed eighth out of 21 teams, which, at the time, was the program’s best national meet finish

George Bockus became the first Saint Joseph’s cross country runner to earn All-America honors after placing ninth with a 24:45 effort in the National Championship – just 26 seconds off first place

Bockus and Scott Roberts claimed All-New England, All-ECAC and All-State awards and Head Coach Brian Gillespie was selected as the NCAA New England Coach of the Year
